Frequently asked
Answers for parents and caregivers.
The most common questions about our KDAP MEA programme, therapies and how to take part.
-
Who is the KDAP MEA centre for?
Polichromi Gonia's KDAP MEA welcomes children, adolescents and adults with disabilities, following the eligibility criteria of each EETAA call and the centre's availability.
-
Is participation covered through a voucher?
Yes. Participation can be covered through EETAA's placement value — known as a voucher — under the terms of each call.
Families are welcome to contact our team for guidance on the process and the basic documents required. -
Can a child attend therapies only, without joining KDAP MEA?
Yes. Polichromi Gonia Therapy operates as a separate Centre for Specialised Therapies, and children can join individual or group programmes independently of their KDAP MEA participation.
-
Which therapies are offered?
Polichromi Gonia Therapy provides speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychological and child-psychological support, as well as counselling and parent groups.
-
How is the right programme chosen for each child?
The collaboration begins with a first contact and meeting with the family.
Depending on the request, an assessment is carried out by the appropriate specialist and a programme is shaped around the real needs and goals of the child. -
What are the daily study groups?
Small groups for children who need guidance in organising and completing their schoolwork.
The goal is not only lesson preparation, but the gradual development of organisation, focus, time-management and independent-study skills. -
What do the independent-living groups include?
The independent-living groups adapt to the age and needs of the participants.
They may include personal hygiene, self-care, looking after personal belongings, preparing simple meals, handling money, shopping, organisation and safe mobility. -
What are the external socialisation programmes?
Organised activities in real community settings.
Through visits, walks, shopping and other everyday activities, children and young people practise communication, cooperation, waiting, adaptation and social participation. -
Do you collaborate with parents?
Yes. The family is a vital part of the process.
Our team updates parents on progress, discusses goals and offers guidance, so that the skills gained inside the centre can be reinforced in everyday life. -
Do you cooperate with the school or other professionals?
Where appropriate and with the family's consent, we can communicate and cooperate with the school or with other professionals supporting the child.
The aim is a shared direction and consistency of goals. -
How can I check availability?
